■ Purpose and Use of Funds
Utilizing the funds raised in Series A, an investigator-initiated clinical trial (single ascending dose study in healthy male participants) of NTX-083, a drug candidate for Alzheimer’s disease, was initiated at The University of Tokyo Hospital in February 2025, and the completion of observation for all subjects was reported in September of the same year.
Furthermore, as a company-sponsored Phase 1 trial (multiple ascending dose study in healthy male subjects), administration of NTX-083 began in November 2025, and observation of all subjects was completed in March 2026.
Both studies reported no notable adverse effects in the safety evaluation, confirming high safety and tolerability.
It was also demonstrated that the drug exhibits an excellent pharmacokinetic profile in both single-dose and multiple-dose administrations.
These clinical trials progressed ahead of the originally established schedule.
Based on these results, Neusignal Therapeutics will utilize the funds raised in this Series B round to conduct a Phase 1b study in patients with Alzheimer’s disease scheduled to start in the United States this year.
Additionally, we will proceed with personnel recruitment and other activities with a view toward future business partnerships with global pharmaceutical companies.
■ Background
Neusignal Therapeutics, a startup working to commercialize seeds originating from Tohoku University, is engaged in the development of drug candidates for Alzheimer’s disease, which continues to increase rapidly worldwide.
In recent years, new pharmaceuticals that are expected to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease have emerged.
While expectations for new drugs are rising, discussions are being held on new challenges, including the difficulty of treatment management, high medical costs, and selection of eligible patients considering the balance of benefits and risks.
We believe that our drug candidate can become an innovative therapeutic drug that resolves these challenges, and we aim to deliver it to patients suffering from this disease and their families.
